We collect what the product needs to work and nothing to sell on. Your customer list is yours: no other business on Smilelink can see it, and we do not sell or share it.
This is a draft. It says what Smilelink actually does, written plainly, and it is with our lawyers. The signed version publishes here before anyone can sign up, with the date it takes effect.
What we collect
About your business: the name, the trade, the contact details, the verification documents required to hold and move money, and the bank account you withdraw to.
About your activity: orders, invoices, payments, expenses, stock movements and accounting entries — the records the product exists to keep.
About your customers: whatever you or they enter in the course of an order — usually a name, a phone number and an address.
About your visit to this website: privacy-respecting analytics with no cross-site tracking and no advertising identifiers.
Why we collect it
To run the product, to move money you are owed, to meet the identity and record-keeping obligations that apply to holding money, and to tell you what is happening in your business.
Who can see it
You, and the staff you give access to, at the level of access you set.
The banks and payment providers we use, to the extent a payment requires it.
A regulator or a court, where we are legally required to produce it.
Nobody else. We do not sell data, we do not share your customer list, and no other business on Smilelink can see your customers.
Your customers' data is yours to answer for
When your customer's details are in Smilelink, you decide what happens to them and we process them on your instruction. If one of your customers asks you to delete their record, you can do it, and we will help.
How long we keep it
Transaction and accounting records for as long as the law requires. Everything else until you delete it or close your account.
Security
Encrypted in transit and at rest. Every access is logged. Anything that moves money requires verification.
Getting your data, or deleting it
Export everything from the dashboard at any time. Ask us to delete what we are not required to keep, and we will, and tell you what remains and why.
